Millville’s Thunderbolt Bark Park Opens on Doggy Day

The Millville Recreation Department has been working on building their Dog Park and is finally ready to open on Saturday, September 18. The ribbon cutting will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Union Lake Park located at 1414 Canal Street, Millville.

Along with the grand opening of Millville’s Thunderbolt Bark Park, the Millville Recreation Department will be holding a Doggy Day event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be dog supplies vendors, a K9 demonstration, a painted rock hunt, music, and food. The first 100 dogs to enter the event will receive a goody bag from the Recreation Department.

The Millville Recreation Department will also be hosting a Dog Contest. Registration will start at 12:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 1 p.m. Children, adults and seniors can enter any type of dog in this fun show. There is no entry fee. Every dog is eligible.

The categories are: Best Dressed Pet, Best Pet/Owner Look-A-Like, Best Trick, Best Vet (dogs over the age of nine), Most Precious Pup (dogs under the age of one) and Top Dog.
