Millville’s 48th Annual Olympic Day Set for May 23

The Millville School District will be holding its 48th Annual Olympic Day on Friday, May 23rd. The day begins with a parade, which will start at 10:00 AM from City Hall in Millville. The parade will include Miss Holly City (Victoria Cieplenski) Homecoming King & Queen (Cameron Nock & Aniya Dixon), Mr. Millville (Zachariah Martin), the Millville High School Marching Band, and 800 4th and 5th graders competing in fourteen different events. The parade will proceed up High Street to Broad Street and across Broad Street to Wheaton Field, where the events will take place.
The 4th and 5th graders from the Millville School District will compete in the following events:
- 400 and 800 Meter Relay Races
- 50, 100, and 200 Meter Dashes
- Softball Throw
- Running and Standing Long Jump
- Hoop Shoot
- Kickball
- Newcomb Volleyball
- Tug of War
The motto at Olympic Day is “Everyone Is A Winner,” and every student will be rewarded for their performance with a ribbon.
The enthusiasm of the day is shared among coaches, teachers, community members, Board of Education members, administration, and most importantly THE KIDS. It is a fun time for all. You are invited to attend and watch this very unique event take place.
