Millville High School welcomes a new staff member to the school this year—Lily the Therapy dog. She is a two-year-old French Bulldog certified this spring through Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Lily is owned by Stephanie DeRose, principal of Millville High School. Lily also visits Wesley Manor in Ocean City, NJ each month and works with senior residents. Alliance of Therapy Dogs’ objective is to form a network of caring individuals and their special dogs that are willing to share smiles and joy with people, young and old alike.
Currently, Lily is working two days a week at the school; after transitioning, her time will increase. Students and staff have really embraced her. She is a positive element who eases the stress that education places on staff and students.
