Mentor on The Green Holds First Graduation, Gets Donation to Continue Program

A remarkable milestone was reached at the Eastlyn Golf Club recently as the Mentor On The Green Program celebrated its first graduation ceremony. The event marked the culmination of a transformative 10-week mentorship and golf program, applied by “Outta Boundz Mentoring Group,” designed for middle and high schools.

With a crowd of 132 attendees, the atmosphere was electric as families, friends, and community leaders gathered to honor the mentees’ achievements. The ceremony featured various esteemed speakers, each presenting certificates and awards to the graduates and highlighting the importance of mentorship and community support.

In a generous display of support, Director of NJ4S-Acenda Integrated Health Nicole Hall and her team presented a $10,000 check to the Outta Boundz Mentor Group, a contribution that will ensure the continuation and growth of this impactful initiative. The funds will aid in expanding the program’s reach, offering more opportunities for youth in the community.

Eastlyn Golf Club owner Rob Buono and head pro golf instructor Mike Zerra played significant roles in the event, contributing to the program’s success with their expertise and commitment to the youth. The collaborative effort of the Mentor Group, led by founder James Cooper and CEO Dan Sinclair, along with dedicated coaches, was instrumental in making this initiative a success.

During the ceremony, attendees were given the unique chance to engage with the young graduates during a 10-minute meet-and-greet session. This interaction allowed visitors to connect with the mentees, fostering a sense of community and encouraging further dialogue about the importance of mentorship in youth development.

This inaugural graduation celebrated the accomplishments of the young mentees and also underscored the community’s commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders. Looking ahead, Outta Boundz is set to broaden its impact by partnering with local school districts to offer after-school programs and summer camps throughout Atlantic, Cumberland, Cape May, Salem, and Gloucester counties. This initiative aims to provide continued support and guidance to young individuals, empowering them through the sport of golf and valuable life lessons.
