New and prospective members of the Millville Woman’s Club were guided through a brief summary of the club’s mission and activities at the recent “Meet and Greet” held at the clubhouse at 300 E Street, Millville.
Jane Christy, membership chair, described the membership as “a group of volunteers” and explained that the club is an arm of both the national and state organizations, the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and the N.J. State Federation of Women’s Clubs. The local group meets nine months of the year on the second Thursday of the month. She introduced club officers and committee chairs, who briefly reviewed their projects and responsibilities.
The club is currently preparing for a major fundraiser, the annual Rummage, Antique and Collectible Sale on October 3, 4, and 5. Hours for Oct. 3 and 4 are 8 a.m.to 3 p.m. and on Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Bertacchi meatball sub sale also will be held during the rummage sale on Friday, October 4, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 856-293-1805 to preorder subs.
