The Cumberland Cape Atlantic YMCA offers extensive lifeguard training throughout the year. This month and next, lifeguard prescreening sessions will be held at the Y facility at 1159 East Landis Avenue, in Vineland. The programs are designed to determine eligibility for the lifeguard training, and participants must demonstrate their competence in the water. The upcoming sessions will be held on Tuesday, January 31 at 4:45 p.m. and on Saturday, February 4 at 11 a.m.
Individuals need to complete all prescreening skills and be at least fifteen years old to register for a lifeguard certification class.
These prescreenings are open to the community for $5, for Y program members for $4, and for Y facility members at no charge.
