Lakeside Middle School Student Dominates at AAU District Track Meet

The Millville Public School District is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of JioVanni Cochran, a student-athlete at Lakeside Middle School, who delivered an exceptional performance at the AAU District Track and Field Competition held in New Brunswick, NJ on Sunday, June 1.

JioVanni earned first-place finishes in three events—the 400m, 800m, and 200m hurdles, showcasing his versatility and strength as a young track star. He also placed an impressive 4th in the 100m, demonstrating speed and consistency across multiple disciplines.

His top finishes have earned him the honor of representing New Jersey and his club team, CC Knight Elite, at the AAU Regional Championships in Connecticut later this month. There, he will compete for a spot in the prestigious AAU Junior Olympic Games, which will take place this summer in Texas.

In addition to his club achievements, JioVanni is a dedicated member of both the Lakeside Middle School Cross Country and Track & Field teams, where he continues to lead by example and inspire his peers through his work ethic and athletic excellence.
