Bridgeton Main Street Association and Stand Up for Salem have been awarded funding from the Main Street New Jersey District Transformation Grant Program. The Bridgeton Main Street Association received $17,500 to provide assistance in marketing the downtown district as a destination and improving safety and engagement through art initiatives. The award will provide funds to develop and execute a plan for economic growth and community engagement.

“Main Streets and downtowns can be great tourist destination for out of state visitors or even people from other parts of the state,” said Senate President Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland). “I am grateful the state is making this investment in the main streets of Bridgeton and Salem to ensure they can continue benefitting the community and drawing traffic from around the region.”
Stand Up for Salem received $23,000 to make over Fenwick Plaza and launch a Façade Improvement Program of Broadway storefronts near the plaza.

“The Main Street New Jersey Transformation program is crucial, and gives downtowns a second chance,” said Deputy Speaker Burzichelli (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland).

“These grants will go a long way in revitalizing the Bridgeton and Salem town centers,” said Assemblyman Taliaferro (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland). “Residents will get to enjoy nicer areas to spend time with their friends and families while also benefiting from additional tourism and increased revenues.”
