Good Karma Movement demonstrates what community service looks like.
Get in on the good vibes at Good Karma Party 2, to be held later this month.
On a recent Saturday, just prior to the Sunday snowstorm that still has many of us hibernating indoors, the Vineland Historical and Antiquarian Society Museum was abuzz with activity. The Good Karma Party Movement came to Vineland that day with excellent results.
There were families coming together to give back and teach their kids the value of community service. There was a feeling of good cheer all around.
Organizations benefitting from the party are Vineland Code Blue, Vineland Soup Kitchen, City Light Outreach, Oasis Animal Sanctuary, Cumberland Sea Dragons, Cumberland Family Shelter and Food Bank, Boys and Girls Club and the Veterans’ Home.

“Presentations were given by representatives of each organization, to explain what each group does and how to assist,” said Jen Hainley, event chair.
“We had 29 volunteers working,” she said. “They made 104 sandwiches and 65 blessing bags, as well as 42 cards for the Veterans’ Home. This was done in just two hours.”
The next party will be held on Sunday, February 22, at 12 noon, at the museum located at 108 South Seventh Street in Vineland. If all goes according to plan, the snow and ice will have melted and the building will be humming with activitiy again.
Donors can provide gently used clothing, non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, or monetary donations.
Individuals and area merchants can participate.
