Gloucester County Law Enforcement to Participate in Statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Initiative
Law enforcement agencies from across the county will be participating in the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” program running from Dec. 8, 2025, through Jan. 1, 2026. The initiative, supported by grants from the Department of Highway Traffic Safety (DHTS), aims to deter impaired driving through increased patrols, checkpoints, and public education. The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office has partnered with local police departments to use grant money to fund additional patrols throughout the county.
The police departments in Clayton, Deptford, East Greenwich, Elk, Franklin, Glassboro, Greenwich, Harrison, Logan, Mantua, Monroe, Paulsboro, Pitman, Washington, West Deptford, Westville, Woodbury, and Woolwich will be participating in this initiative throughout December.
“Keeping our roads safe is a responsibility our law enforcement officers take on year-round,” Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns said. “December should be a season of celebration and togetherness, not tragedy and loss. Our month-long participation in the Drive Sober, Get Pulled Over campaign reinforces our commitment to protecting the public and promoting safer roadways for everyone.”
Prosecutor Johns thanked the chiefs of the participating departments, as well as the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, the New Jersey Police Traffic Officers Association, the New Jersey Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Gloucester County Police Chiefs Association for their partnership and work towards achieving a safe holiday season.
