Four Graduate From Police Academy

Four local recruits recently graduated from the 90th Basic Police Recruit Class of the Camden County College Police Academy. Russell Moore Bridgeton Police Dept.; and Christina Olivo, Erik Rose, and Michael Pacheco Vineland Police Dept. were among the 63 new recruits graduated.

Of the recruit class, 18 will be joining the Camden County Police Department and three will be joining the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.

In a special keynote address, Judge Morris G. Smith of the Superior Court of NJ Appellate Division spoke to the recruits.

“These recruits should be proud that they completed such rigorous training and are now beginning a new chapter in their careers in law enforcement,” said Camden County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. “Law enforcement is one of the toughest jobs a person can do, and these recruits are rising to the challenge to serve their communities and keep people safe. We applaud them on their decision to enter this field and expect nothing but great things from them in the future.”

Among the traditions that were observed during the formal ceremony was the badge-pinning many of the recruits experienced as they are “pinned” into their new profession by a family member who either is serving as or has retired from service as a law enforcement official.
