First Harvest Credit Union Scholarship Applications Available

Applications are now being accepted for First Harvest Credit Union’s 2024 Scholarship awards. Scholarships in the amount of $2,000 will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, trade, technical, or business school. Scholarship winners will be chosen based on academic performance, extra-curricular activities, community service, a teacher’s recommendation, and a personal essay.

“For years, First Harvest has been awarding scholarships to deserving high school seniors. We’re happy to continue that tradition, and to expand the scholarship eligibility to include trade, technical, and business school applicants,” said Mike Dinneen, president and chief executive officer of First Harvest Credit Union. “We look forward to helping another group of dedicated students reach their educational goals.”

To be eligible for a First Harvest Credit Union scholarship, an applicant must be a First Harvest member in good standing with an account in their name on or before April 30, 2024. Applicants must also be graduating high school seniors who have been formally accepted into an accredited two- or four-year college, university, trade, technical, or business school and have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5, verified by a transcript issued within the last six months.

An applicant cannot be an employee, or a family member of an employee at First Harvest Credit Union, First Harvest Investment Solutions, or the First Harvest Credit Union Board of Directors. The scholarship funds must be used for tuition at an accredited institution by January 31, 2025, and the funds will be paid directly to the institution.

The scholarship application and instructions are currently available at FirstHarvestCU.com/Scholarship and at all First Harvest Credit Union branches. Completed applications and all supporting materials must be submitted online, mailed, or hand delivered to First Harvest Credit Union by Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
