Some events have been cancelled. Call before you head out.

Millville and the Glasstown Arts District are ready for Spring! As the green of lawns and trees begin, we are all itching to get out and find fun events to attend. You may want to start at Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center on Saturday, March 21. A Free Family Art Workshop will be held between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in one-hour segments. At 2 p.m. the same day, the classic Velveteen Rabbit will be presented by the Pushcart Players in the Event Center. This is a free event, but registration is required. You can register on their website: WheatonArtsEvents or call for more information at 856-825-6800.

WheatonArts will resume full-time hours on April 1. They are open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Makers Day” will blend science and the arts for STEAM projects at the Millville Public Library on Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Let’s Make Some Robots!” is the theme for the day. Children and teens will be able to experiment with:

• Creating their own “BristleBot”

• Assembling a bottle rocket car

• Making robot-themed art projects

• Learning about the science behind batteries and magnets while creating their own colorful lights

• Seeing the new 3D printer in action and taking home a printed object

More information is available by calling 856-825-7087, ext. 12.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Artists Studio Tour in the Glasstown Arts District. Twenty artists will be creating in six locations throughout High Street and Second Street. You will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of fine art and artisan work and talk with the artists. Work will be available for sale. There will be one or more free drawings for a piece of art when you visit all six locations. Visit the website and download the Studio Tour brochure that includes addresses and the artists’ information and a glimpse of their art. Visit GlasstownArtsDistrictEvents or call 856-293-0556.

The Millville Army Airfield Museum is in full swing preparing for the Wheels and Wings Airshow on May 23 and 24 at Millville Airport. Buy your tickets in advance—adults $15 and children 12 and under are $5. Advance sales saves adults $5. Visit the website to get all the details: P47Millville. You can call 856-327-2347.

Every month of the year, the Glasstown Arts District is host to Third Friday, with the opening receptions of new exhibitions of art in the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, Rowan College of South Jersey Arts & Innovation Center, and several private galleries along High Street. The Levoy Theatre hosts concerts, Broadway plays, and more almost every weekend. Our fine and delicious restaurants are mostly open six days/evenings each week and offer a variety of cuisine.
