Takeem Ragland, a graduate of the Millville High School Class of 2005, former Millville Public School substitute teacher, and former high school track and field sprinter, has published his first novel. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Delaware State University in 2009, and his master’s from Saint Joseph’s University in 2015. Before moving abroad, he was a middle school English teacher. Beginning his first novel in early 2020, he completed it in July 2021.

The Treaty of I: The Genesis, was released in October 2021, and encompasses a story about a teacher who travels to China to teach ESL classes and find himself. The main character goes on a journey of self-discovery and self-love that spans the globe. Able to encourage someone to follow his or her heart, The Treaty of I: The Genesis draws on Takeem’s own experiences while living abroad. This will be the first book in a four-part series.
