Cumberland County Eagle Festival Set for Saturday, February 7

Ben Wurst, Senior Wildlife Biologist at Conserve Wildlife Foundation, will present a noontime talk, “Seeing Red: Engaging Future Generations in Osprey Conservation.”

Speaker series will take place indoors at the Mauricetown Firehall, 9544 Noble St., Mauricetown. 8 a.m–4 p.m. It’s a day celebrating the remarkable recovery of America’s iconic bald eagle and the partners who helped make it possible. Explore vendor booths, enjoy a bite to eat, and get up close with live raptors from Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge. Get creative with Clay College, learn about Bayshore birds from engaging speakers, or simply warm up, relax, and connect with the community.

This year’s guided walk series begins at sunrise with an early-morning walk along Turkey Point Road and concludes at twilight with an Owl Watch. Each outing offers a chance to explore and connect with the wild, natural landscapes of Cumberland County.

Hot food and beverages will be available for purchase, prepared by the volunteers of the Mauricetown Fire Company. Your presence at the Mauricetown Firehall helps make this celebration a success.
