The Cumberland County Office on Aging & Disabled is holding a free Caregiver Conference at the Rowan College of South Jersey, Luciano Center, 3400 College Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360, on Saturday, November 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you are the caregiver of a senior or someone disabled (ages 0 to 59), you can learn more about caregiver resources and information to assist you or your loved ones.
The keynote speaker will be Mary Catherine Lindquist from Rutgers Health, COPSA Institute for Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorders. Her presentation will be “Caregiving Basics & Caregiver Resiliency.” South Jersey Legal Services will give a presentation on “Legal Issues for Caregivers.” Other presentations specifically for seniors will include “Helpful Information for Alzheimer’s Caretakers” and “Coping with Behavior Changes.” Presentations for disabled (ages 0 to 59) will be “Accessing Services & Natural Support” and “Challenging Behaviors.” In addition, many agencies will be on-hand with information on programs and services for caregivers. Lunch will be provided for all registered participants.
