Club Participates in Martin Luther King Day of Service
On January 15, volunteers at the Millville Woman’s Club (MWC) joined the New Jersey Federation of Woman’s Clubs (NJSFWC), the General Federation of Womans Clubs and many others throughout the country to participate in the Martin Luther King’s Day of Service. The NJSFWC focus for this year’s Day of Service was Domestic Violence.
Clubs throughout the State collected items for the shelters in their districts. Items collected at MWC included twin sheets, pillows, towels and washcloths, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, liquid soap and shampoo, sweatpants and shirts, arts and craft supplies, and gift cards from Walmart, ShopRite, Wawa. There were also monetary contributions. MWC volunteers used their artistic skills to design small zipper bags for the gift cards and also to write cheerful notes on cards to be sent families receiving services through Emmanuel Cancer Foundation (ECF). ECF is the NJSFWC Special State Project and this foundation assists families facing the crisis of pediatric cancer.
