City of Millville Awarded $5,000 Environmental Stewardship Grant
The City of Millville has been awarded a $5,000 grant to support an environmental stewardship project in its community. This funding is provided through the Atlantic City Electric Sustainable Communities Grant program, administered in partnership with Sustainable Jersey.
“This program is all about elevating the work already happening in our communities,” said Jaclyn Cantler, senior vice president of Government, Regulatory and External Affairs for Pepco Holdings, which includes Atlantic City Electric. “Across South Jersey, local leaders are bringing forward thoughtful, creative solutions that make neighborhoods stronger, greener, and better prepared for the future. We’re proud to partner with Sustainable Jersey to identify and fund their efforts to help turn these ideas into lasting impacts.”
In 2025, Atlantic City Electric is contributing $35,000 in total funding through the program, supporting local municipalities across South Jersey. Funding awarded this year supports projects that enhance emergency services and resiliency capabilities; expand access to safe, reliable infrastructure; preserve open spaces and improve park or recreation resources; and promote environmental education and clean-water infrastructure.
“We are grateful to receive this grant award and put it towards improving Corson Park by expanding accessibility and creating a safer, more inclusive outdoor space for residents by adding ADA-compliant picnic tables and benches,” said Samantha Cruz, Manager of Parks & Public Property.
“This partnership is about combining strengths to support the incredible work already happening in our communities,” said Randall Solomon, Executive Director of Sustainable Jersey. “This year’s grant recipients are bringing forward thoughtful, creative ideas — and by working together, we can help make those ideas a reality for residents across South Jersey.”
The Sustainable Communities Grant program provides municipalities with $5,000 resiliency grants and environmental-stewardship grants to support innovative approaches that enhance a community’s ability to prevent and respond to emergencies or safeguard treasured resources.
