Church Provides Support to Area Refugee Families

Back row, from left: Heather Sugden, pastor; Marie Guillaume, I-RISE Case Manager; James Clay, Donna Yearsley and Kevin Yearsley, Redeemer project volunteers. Front row: Zoryana Letushko, I-RISE Case Manager; Andrea Mendez, I-RISE Director; and Kathleen Clay, Redeemer project volunteer.

Representatives of the Interfaith Refugee and Immigration Services & Empowerment (I-RISE) organization received a $2,000 cash donation and a supply of baby diapers and school supplies collected by the members of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Vineland. The church raised the money through their Annual Strawberry Festival and a special outdoor concert. Members also donated items.

The Interfaith-RISE South office, located at 2384 E. Landis Avenue, provides services to Ukranian and other refugee families settling in South Jersey. The service is in great need of baby diapers (sizes 2-5) and household items for the families.

For more information on Interfaith-RISE and how you can help, contact Herminia Nava-Cedeno, Volunteer & Donations coordinator at 201-208-2433.
