Carstens is Outstanding 2023 Civil Air Patrol Cadet

Civil Air Patrol Cadet SSgt. Joshua Carstens received the Outstanding 2023 CAP Cadet Award from Daughters of the American Revolution, Greenwich Tea Burning Chapter recently at the Henry E. Wyble Historic Research Library, which is part of the Millville Army Air Field Museum at Millville, NJ Airport.

Carstens, chosen by the Cumberland Composite Squadron, New Jersey Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, U.S. Air Force Auxiliay, for his achievement, attends Fairton Christian Center Academy where he is in the 9th grade. He is a volunteer at a local homeless shelter and at the Veterans Memorial Home Vineland. Carstens has received the CAP 2022 Phase 1 Cadet of the Year and the CAP Patriotism awards. He is very active in the squadron and is developing his leadership skills. He plans to attend Encampment this year with CAP. In his free time he plays baseball and flag football. Also, he competes in 5K runs.

With his mother and grandparents in attendance, Vice Regent Sarah Tarpine-Smith called Cadet Carstens forward to receive the award and chapter check in honor of his accomplishments.
