Sandy Dutra, a nurse at Angelic Health as been named Hospice Nurse of the Year for 2019 by the International Nurses Association.

“Sandy exemplifies everything one would want a hospice nurse to be…kind, compassionate, caring,” said April Gall, RN, director of admissions. “She puts patients at ease and helps guide them and their loved ones through a very difficult time.”

“It is a privilege and an honor to be part of a patient’s end of life journey,” said Dutra who has been an RN for 37 years, and a hospice nurse for 13. A native of Bridgeton, she now lives in Buena Vista Township.

“It is my commitment to patients that the hospice team meets the patient’s needs and that the patient is peaceful and comfortable throughout all stages of their care; and that we support their loved ones through the loss of their beloved family member.”
