Bridgeton Athlete Recognized by College Sports Communicators

College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently named Bridgeton native Rob Ready as a 2025 Academic All-District Baseball Team member. The award recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Ready was a pitcher for University of North Carolina (UNC) Greensboro.

The graduating senior was a two-time CSC Academic All-District® Team member. He was an economics major.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced later in June.

The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team had five Spartans named to the CSC, formerly CoSIDA, Academic All-District® team for baseball.

To be eligible, nominated student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average in their second year at the current institution and must have played in 90 percent of the institution’s games or made starts in 66 percent of the games. For a baseball pitcher to qualify, they must make 17 appearances or log 25 innings pitched.

Ready pitched for St. Augustine Prep and was named to the Perfect Game All-Region first team. He is a son of Eileen and Robert Ready Jr. His uncle, Sean Landeta, was a punter for five different teams over a 22-season career in the NFL.
