Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties (BBBS) announced their 2020 Bigs of the Year—Emmanuel Gauffeny and Judy Napoli—for their commitment to their Little Brother and Little Sister through their active mentorship and volunteerism.

“During 2019 our Bigs contributed countless hours of volunteer service to our Littles,” said Donna Bennett, president, and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties. “On behalf of our organization and most importantly our Littles, who benefit from mentorship on a daily basis, I want to thank Emmanuel, Judy, and every one of our volunteers for all that they do in our fight to defend and ignite potential in our youth.”

Big Brother of the Year Emmanuel Gauffeny was matched to Little Brother Tommy on November 13, 2013. Since being matched with Emmanuel, Tommy has established the goal of becoming a mechanical engineer and through their mentor-mentee relationship, they have been able to have the opportunity to dedicate time to mutual hobbies, including sporting events and car shows.

“Meeting Tommy has been a blessing for me and my family,” said Gauffeny. “At first I was anxious about the effect I could have on Tommy, but fast-forward to now, my Litte’s achievements and growth have made me very hopeful that he will find a good place for himself and contribute the great potential I know he has back to our society.”

Big Sister of the Year Judy Napoli was matched to Little Sister Aubreonna, known as Bre, in April of 2016. Since being matched with Judy, Bre has unearthed a goal of pursuing a career in the medical field and they have spent their time together playing board games and enjoying fashion.

“Becoming Bre’s Big has changed my life for the better,” said Judy. “I am glad to have an impact and hope that I can play a small role in helping Bre find her path in life. I am confident that, with the help of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties, Bre’s potential has been unlocked.”
