Around Town

Some happenings around Cumberland County in the past week or so.

Above: It was a full house (sold-out) at The Levoy on Saturday, March 16, for the showing of the much-anticipated documentary about Seabrook Farms and the workers employed there. Several of the audience members were in the film as they were interviewed about their childhood years living in the community. There’s talk of another showing in the future (in case you missed it!).

Right: On Sunday, March 24, the Port Norris Fire Department held its bi-annual Oyster and Ham Dinner. Posing with tray of oysters is Fire Chief Bill Rhubart and recently retired former Chief John Hoffman. Next dinner is set for Sunday, October 27. Yum!

Left: On Sunday March 17, Deborah Ein, left, as Mary Treat and Kate Ogden as Beatrice Braidwood were at the Vineland Historical Society to read Ein’s children’s book. It was a fun day of coloring, painting, and crafts!
