Bridgeton High School Marching Band took second place and Vineland High’s Marching Clan finished third in their divisions in the recent Cavalcade of Bands Competition at West Chester (Pa.) East High School.
Paused for two years by COVID and by a hurricane last year, West Chester East this year hosted nine regional marching bands from as far away as New Jersey and Delaware for an exciting evening of competition.
Scores for this event were as follows: Chichester High School took first with a score of 73.5 in the Independence A division, followed by Bridgeton High School with a score of 67.75.
In the Liberty A division, Washington Township High School took first in the Liberty A with a score of 76.1.
Methacton High School took second with a score of 74.6, followed by Vineland High in third with a score of 73.1 and Haverford in fourth with a score of 71.9.
The evening ended with a special performance by Widener University’s Marching Band.
All these bands will go on to other competitions most weekends through October in preparation of the Cavalcade of Bands Championships in November.
