All Academic Honor for Lacrosse Player

Drew Coyle of Vineland, who plays women’s lacrosse at Kean University, was recently named to the 2024-25 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Academic Team. The sophomore physical education major was one of 147 honorees from Kean. Coyle was an outstanding student-athlete at Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Newfield.

The conference had a total of 1,379 student-athletes named for the 2024-25 academic year. To be eligible for the NJAC squad, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior, or senior who has competed in a conference-sponsored sport while achieving a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.20. Athletes cannot be a “first-year” player or first-year transfer. First- and second-team selections were made by each of the league’s 10 full-member institutions.

This year, Coyle was picked for IWLCA Boardwalk Region Second Team and All-NJAC First Team. She played and started in 14 games, totaled three points on two goals and one assist and took 11 shots, including five on goal.

She posted a .182 shot and a .455 shot on goal percentage, tallied 44 groundballs, 37 caused turnovers and 10 draw controls in 2024. Even as a freshman, she played with impact.
