Cumberland County Teacher of the Year: Dr. Tiffanie ThrBak
Dr. Tiffanie ThrBak was recently honored as the Cumberland County Teacher of the Year. She is a special education teacher at Cherry Street School in the Bridgeton City school district. The New Jersey Department of Education made the announcement and the 21 educators named were recognized at an award ceremony in August at the College of New Jersey in Ewing.
“Great teachers make for great schools, and New Jersey is home to the best public school system in the nation, “said Gov. Phil Murphy. “I applaud this year’s county teachers of the year for their hard work and dedication and uplifting young learners across our state. These awards exemplify the very best our schools have to offer, and I am immensely grateful for the contributions of these exceptional educators to our school communities.”
The county teachers of the year will work with colleagues throughout the state during the year and serve as ambassadors for New Jersey’s public schools.
A panel of educators will select the New Jersey state Teacher of the Year from among the 21 county winners based on written applications, video submissions, and interviews with the top finalists.
Last year‘s Teacher of the Year from Cumberland County was Carolina Mills, an elementary school teacher at Durand in Vineland. Mills was one of the five finalists for New Jersey Teacher of the Year.
