New Jersey Woman Accused of Abusing Children at Home Private Daycare

A woman running a private daycare in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, is now facing serious charges after being accused of abusing young children in her care.
Authorities say 36-year-old Danielle Ingraham, a mother of three, was arrested and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of child cruelty. The charges stem from allegations that she slapped an infant and a toddler while they were under her supervision.
The case started gaining attention after a parent provided video footage from a live stream that Ingraham had set up for families. In the video, she was seen watching over the children in her living room. Investigators say she moved out of view, and soon after, a loud slapping sound could be heard. The footage also reportedly captured her using harsh and inappropriate language toward a child.
This is not the first time Ingraham has been accused of harming children. Back in 2022, Jacob Richardson and Rachel Holmes enrolled their 5-month-old son, Dakota, in her daycare, thinking that a home setting would provide better care than a larger daycare center.
But after just four days, their child started showing troubling symptoms. He vomited, appeared pale, and seemed unwell. When they rushed him to the hospital, doctors at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia diagnosed him with a brain bleed and a broken wrist. He ended up staying in intensive care for three weeks.
At that time, the parents reported their concerns to police and child welfare services, but there was not enough evidence to bring charges against Ingraham. Now, with her recent arrest, they believe this case is proof that something should have been done sooner.
Other parents have also come forward, sharing their concerns about Ingraham’s daycare. While some families had already been uneasy about her care, they either lacked proof or did not realize the full extent of what was happening. Many are now relieved that authorities are taking action.
On Monday, Ingraham was arrested and taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays Landing. A grand jury will review the case and decide whether to move forward with an indictment. Meanwhile, prosecutors are asking any other parents who may have had issues with Ingraham’s daycare to step forward and provide information.
Although Ingraham’s attorney has stated that she plans to fight the charges and clear her name, families affected by the case believe that justice is long overdue.
Authorities urge anyone with additional information to contact the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office or Mount Laurel police.
