Vineland Welcomes First Career Female Firefighter

New Vineland Fire Department members Brian Wheeler, Jr., Eric Peck, and Kaylynn Low are sworn in by Vineland Mayor Anthony Fanucci.

The City of Vineland welcomed three new members to the Fire Department recently in a ceremony at City Hall, including one that made history. The new members of the career staff, Kaylynn Low, Eric Peck, and Brian Wheeler, Jr, were sworn in by Mayor Anthony Fanucci.

“As we welcome this group of new firefighters, I want to thank each of them for choosing a career in public safety,” Fanucci said. “I also want to give special recognition to Firefighter Kaylynn Low for being the first to achieve yet another significant milestone in our city’s history as our first career female Firefighter. It makes me proud that under my administration, a number of gender and diversity barriers have been broken throughout municipal government by extremely qualified individuals who reflect the citizens they serve.”
