Tap dancing and classical harp come together to raise money for the nonprofit Ghana Make a Difference (GMAD) at a show that will take place in New York this Saturday. Robin Passmore and Juliana Beckel, who both grew up in Pittsgrove, New Jersey, will perform at a gallery in SoHo on Nov. 30.
Salem Community College (SCC) celebrated its esteemed past and exciting future in the glass world with the dedication of the Samuel and Jean Jones Glass Education Center. The 20,000-square-foot facility honors longtime benefactors whose generosity transformed a bold idea – moving the glass center back to campus in Carneys Point after 10 years in Alloway – into a reality.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties is now taking reservations for their annual "Rise & Shine Breakfast," which is scheduled for Giving Tuesday on Dec. 3 at The Grove at Centerton located at 1022 Almond Road in Pittsgrove. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. with a mix and mingle, and the full program will start at 8:00 a.m.
Historian Anthony Melita will present a program titled, “Salem County in the Revolution” on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. at Salem Community College. This free program will kick off the President’s Lecture Series in DON 106, Donaghay Hall, 460 Hollywood Ave., Carneys Point.
Salem Community College will welcome the public to its first-ever open house at the new Samuel and Jean Jones Glass Education Center on Sunday, October 20 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission will be free, and tours of the new facility will be provided.
