South Jersey wineries are something to relish. If Napa Valley had a kid brother, you might say it’s here in our backyards. With so many varieties of wine and endless pairing options, popping the top on your favorite bottle is always a joy when it’s local. These South Jersey wineries are helping us all ‘wine’ down during this time of social distancing by shipping directly to your door.

Cedar Rose Vineyards in Millville is a crafter of handmade wines and quality-grown grapes from the heart of the outer coastal plain. Here are a few of our favorites:
• Vidal Blanc: For white wine lovers, the Vidal Blanc from Cedar Rose is dry, smooth, and delicate. Aged in acacia barrels for twelve months, this wine has hints of citrus and soft floral notes.
• Samara: Red wine drinkers, take note! Cedar Rose’s Samara evokes warmth with hints of caramel and baking spices. Exceptionally smooth, this is a wine to wind down with on your quiet evening in.
• Thundergust: A beautiful dry red blend of Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Thundergust exhibits cherry and vanilla notes laced with orchid and velvety tannins.

Bellview Winery in Landisville has over 20 estate-grown varietals and more than two dozen wines to sip and savor. Here are a few of our personal faves:
• Chambourcin: Bellview’s Chambourcin is a medium-body red that balances dark fruit notes like black cherry and raspberry with lighter tannins and makes for a great match with pork or decadent chocolate desserts.
• Syrah: With fragrant floral notes, Bellview’s Syrah captures accents of rosemary and tarragon. Paired with pasta, chops, or steak, this Syrah is a palate-pleaser.
• Coeur d’est: Meaning “heart of the east,” Coeur D’est opens with fragrant berry and chocolate notes before transitioning to raspberry and black tea flavors. This full-body red will be a favorite for those who enjoy a dry wine with fleeting shadows of sweetness (and all without being sweet).
