Millville Students Volunteer at Golf Program for Veterans

Students from the Millville Public Schools were excited to help honor veterans by participating the PGA Hope Program. Golf professional Donald Strassner of the Union League National Golf Club in Cape May Court House brought the Program that provides free lessons for veterans to southern New Jersey. At the culminating event, members of the Millville High Golf Team were caddies to the 15 veterans who took part.

Rieck Avenue Elementary School students in Mrs. Araujo’s, Ms. Ward’s, Ms. Fisler’s, and Ms. Hignett’s classes honored veterans at the sessions by creating colorful pictures and thank you notes to decorate the “Caring Carts.” Strassner earlier had presented a slideshow to the students about how the PGA HOPE program is designed to teach veterans of the game of golf.

Veterans may register for the fall session at pgareachphiladelphia.com/military
