The Same Principle Lives in Us: People of African Descent in the American Revolution

June 3, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

From the outbreak of the American Revolution, people of African descent struggled with the question of whether the phrase “all men are created equal” truly applied to all people. In this virtual Zoom presentation, hear the stories and explore the objects that the Museum of the American Revolution uses to help imagine what the Revolution was like for Phillis Wheatley, Elizabeth Freeman, James Forten, Harry Washington and others.
