“A Story of ‘Poppy’: A Reporter Tells of Her Holocaust Survivor Grandfather” Zoom presentation

online Zoom presentation for the public, students, and educators entitled “A Story of “Poppy”: A Reporter Tells of Her Holocaust Survivor Grandfather.” The presentation, presented by South Jersey Holocaust Coalition, and New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education, with additional funding from One Jewish Community–Jewish Federation of Cumberland, Gloucester & Salem Counties. is free and open to the public. It will take place on Wednesday, May 19, from 8 to 9:15 p.m.
The presenter will be Dana Arschin, a reporter for Fox 5 News in the New York/Tri-State area, as she tells her story and the story of her grandfather—her “Poppy.” She is also is an Emmy Award winning reporter, for Fox 5 News in the New York/Tri-State area. In her previous reporting assignments for News12, she won the first of her two Emmy Awards and also won first-place awards two years in a row at the prestigious New York Press Club. In 2018, as a reporter for Fox 5, she traveled to Poland to learn more about her relatives who were murdered in the Holocaust. She shot, wrote, and produced three films. She won a second New York Emmy Award for one of those short films, entitled The Forgotten Camps.
