NEW JERSEY — New Jersey’s unemployment rate is on the decline for the sixth consecutive month.
According to estimates released by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics on Thursday, October 17 job levels have unchanged. The state’s unemployment rate lowered by 0.1 of a percentage point to 3.1 percent, the lowest monthly rate since the state-level records began in 1976.
The rate is also below the national unemployment rate of 3.5 percent.
From Sept. 2018 to Sept. 2019, employment in the state was higher by 44,600 jobs, with gains in the private and public sectors.
