VINELAND, N.J. — The Cumberland County Improvement Authority (CCIA) is holding the 7th annual State of the County business event next week.
The State of the County will be held at Rowan College of South Jersey’s Luciano Conference Center on Tuesday, October 15 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. The focus of this year’s event will be on innovation and technology in Cumberland County.
Gerard Velazquez III, President/CEO of the CCIA, will give an update on the $168 million of projects that are underway throughout the county. President of Rowan College of South Jersey, Dr. Frederick Keating will discuss the progress of the colleges since the merger of Cumberland County College and Rowan College at Gloucester County including future plans for expansion and student services.
Featured speakers will include David Johnson, Vice President of Inspira Health’s Innovation Center, who will give an introduction to what Inspira health is doing to improve patient care from their stay in the hospital to the patient’s arrival home.
Ean Johnson, Vice President of Economic Development of OmniTrax, will then present the details of the acquisition of the Winchester and Western railroad and their plans for industrial development in the county along the rail line. Their goal is to foster job and economic growth in the region. After the event, OmniTrax will host a small luncheon for attendees and customers for a meet and greet session to learn more about the company.
