VINELAND, N.J. — Rowan College of South Jersey-Cumberland Campus continues its “One Book, One College” reading campaign with a presentation and book signing from “Ginny Moon” author Benjamin Ludwig.
Ludwig will be at the Guaracini Performing Arts Center, located at 3322 College Drive in Vineland on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.
The 16th annual “One Book, One College” program connects the college campus and the community to promote reading for pleasure, critical thinking, global awareness, and multicultural understanding.
“Ginny Moon” follows the story of Ginny, an autistic teenager who has been in the foster care system for many years, and has finally been adopted by a loving family. But, Ginny struggles to feel at home and begins to plot a way to get back what is missing in her life, even knowing it might be dangerous.
The book was partly inspired by Ludwig’s own experience of adopting a teenager with autism.
“Ginny Moon” was a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers selection, and named one of the 20 Best Books of 2017 by Amazon.
A lifelong teacher of English and writing, Ludwig lives in New Hampshire with his family. He holds a master’s degree in English education and an MFA in creative writing.
