WOODBURY, N.J. – The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders celebrated the Glassboro High School Bulldogs baseball team for its outstanding performance during the 2019 season, culminating in winning the Group I South Sectional Championship for the first time since 1970.
“These young men showed amazing athleticism and sportsmanship and had the most wins by a Glassboro High School baseball team in school history, finishing with a record of 23-6,” Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said at their July 10 meeting.
During the championship season, the Glassboro High School Bulldogs baseball team were the winners of the Collingswood Bob Roseboro Tournament, the Pitman Joe Lang Tournament, and were the Tri-County Conference Diamond Division Champs, and the Group 1 South Sectional Champs.
“These exceptional student athletes have demonstrated the finest qualities of true champions and we are honored how they represent our county. We applaud their coaches, parents, and members of the athletic community that helped them in attaining this championship,” Freeholder Jim Lavender said.
The varsity roster of the Glassboro High School Bulldogs baseball team includes Zach Gorman, Daniel Ball, Noah Putney, Michael McMahon, Nicholas Newell, Colin Bridges, Santino Mancini, William McMahon, Andrew Tongue, Chase Taylor, Coty McArthur, Anthony Saicic, Brandon Willoughby, Matthew Ricciardi, John Wallace, Aidan Warlow, Justin Tongue, Justin Bilinski and Joseph Heggan; and head coach Dan Brown, assistant coaches Mark Bridges, Gene Reid and Nick Brown, team captain Santino Mancini, managers and statisticians Jodi Stetsor and Alex Ibarra, and athletic trainer Dannie Williams.
The proclamation from the Freeholders also recognized the baseball teams coaching staff. “Under the guidance of head coach Dan Brown, assistant coaches Mark Bridges, Gene Reid and Nick Brown, team captain Santino Mancini, managers and statisticians Jodi Stetsor and Alex Ibarra and athletic trainer Dannie Williams, these exceptional athletes have demonstrated the finest qualities of true champions,” the proclamation stated.
