CAMDEN, N.J. – The City of Camden prepares for the 6th annual Connect the Lots event with a free music, art, and food festival.
Camden Night Gardens, which takes place on Friday, May 17th, is a free festival with outdoor activities to “engage residents, entertain visitors and invigorate vacant, underutilized neighborhood spaces, aiding in community transformation.”
The theme for this year’s Camden Night Gardens is “Zero Gravity, Zero Limits” and will include local artists, a community showcase, and a custom car show. Festival-goers will be able to take rides in a hot air balloon for $5. Regional food trucks will also on site.
Cooper’s Ferry Partnership and the Rutgers–Camden Center for the Arts will host a pop-up arts booth to showcase the “A New View” project funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies. The project aims to combat illegal dumping in the city with public art. The pop-up will ask event attendees what “A New View” of Camden would mean to them – as well as offer them the opportunity to take part in a participatory art project.
Camden Night Gardens will be held at Cooper’s Poynt Waterfront Park, located at 801 Delaware Avenue in Camden starting at 7 p.m.
